Biography

Holding four degrees from three different countries, Pavlos is a Professor in Management/ Business School of the University of Glasgow; and, a Co-Director of the Centre of Internationalisation and Enterprise Research (CIER). Previously he has served at the Athens University of Economics and Business, Greece and the University of Strathclyde, UK. His research interests are in international entrepreneurship, international management and international strategy. His publications include 25 articles in peer-reviewed journals, 4 guest-editorials, 1 book, 6 edited books, 23 book chapters and more than 60 international conference proceedings. His publications appear in journals such as the British Journal of Management, Business History, Entrepreneurship and Regional Development, Environment and Planning, International Business Review, International Journal of Human Resource Management, International Small Business Journal, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Management Studies, Journal of World Business and Management International Review. He is cited as one of the leading researchers in international entrepreneurship (in the article 'Transnationalizing Entrepreneurship: A Critical Agenda for Economic Geography', author Yeung H.W.-C., Progress in Human Geography, 33(2), 2009, 210-235). His paper 'Does Confucian Dynamism Complement the OLI Framework? A Study of Chinese Private Firms' coauthored with Dr Junzhi Ji was awarded the Best Paper Award on Emerging Markets at the 36th European International Business Academy Conference, December 2010, Porto, Portugal. Pavlos has taught undergraduate and postgraduate courses in international business, international entrepreneurship, global business environment, management of multinational subsidiaries and international/export marketing. He has served as supporting supervisor to PhD students in themes such as entrepreneurship in multinational subsidiaries, management of multinational enterprises, international decision-making, international mergers and acquisitions, learning in internationalised small firms and networking in internationalised small firms. He is a member of the Executive Boards of the Academy of International Business (Secretary of the AIB - UK & Ireland Chapter) and the European International Business Academy (EIBA). He has been coordinator and investigator in several international business research projects collaborating with colleagues across the world; while served as a consultant to organisations such as the European Union, Scottish Enterprise and UNCTAD.
